Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Wayve mobile app and website at joinwayve.com (together, the “Service”), operated by Wayve (“Wayve”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. What Wayve is
Wayve helps you plan trips, discover places, capture memories (“moments”), chat and split expenses with your travel crew, translate Ghanaian languages, and get AI-assisted suggestions. Wayve is a planning and companionship tool — we are not a travel agency, tour operator, or booking service, and we are not a party to any arrangement between you and the places you visit.
2. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Wayve.
- You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to purchase a subscription; otherwise a parent or guardian must do so for you.
- You are responsible for your account and everything done with it. Keep your password secure and tell us promptly at hello@joinwayve.com if you suspect unauthorised use.
- The information you give us must be accurate, and you may only create an account for yourself.
3. Your content
You own the content you create on Wayve — photos, notes, messages, expenses, places, and anything else you add (“Your Content”). So that the Service can work, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute Your Content solely to operate, provide, and improve the Service. This licence ends when your content is deleted from the Service, except where retention is required by law.
- Content you add to a shared moment is visible to the other members of that moment, and remains visible to them even if you later leave the moment.
- Places you contribute to the community map are public.
- You must have the necessary rights to anything you upload, including photos of other people.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law or infringe anyone’s rights using the Service;
- upload content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually exploitative, or that endangers anyone;
- impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or our infrastructure;
- scrape, resell, or reverse-engineer the Service, or use it to build a competing dataset;
- abuse community features, including posting false or misleading places.
We may remove content or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or put other users at risk.
5. Subscriptions and billing
- Wayve offers a free tier and a paid Wayve Plus subscription, billed monthly or yearly through our payment provider, Paystack. Prices are shown in the app before you pay and may be offered in Ghana cedis or US dollars.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in the app; you keep Plus access until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Founding-member and promotional pricing apply to the periods stated in the offer. Coupons cannot be exchanged for cash.
- Premium features unlocked for a shared moment while its creator had Plus remain available to that moment’s members.
- If a renewal payment fails we may retry it and notify you; continued failure downgrades your account to the free tier.
- Refunds are handled case by case in line with applicable consumer law — contact hello@joinwayve.com. Where a refund is granted, related Plus benefits may be revoked.
6. AI, translation, and speech features
- AI-generated suggestions, itineraries, summaries, and chat responses are produced by machine-learning models and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. They are not professional, safety, medical, or legal advice. Verify important details — opening hours, prices, routes, safety conditions — before relying on them.
- Translations and speech output are machine-generated and may contain errors. Do not rely on them where a mistranslation could cause harm.
- Content you submit to these features is processed by the providers named in our Privacy Policy.
7. Travel is at your own risk
Places, activities, and travel conditions change and carry inherent risk. Wayve provides information and tools, not guarantees. You are solely responsible for your travel decisions, arrangements, and safety, and for complying with local laws wherever you travel.
8. Intellectual property
The Service — including the Wayve name, logo, design, and software — belongs to Wayve or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for its intended purpose. Feedback you send us may be used to improve the Service without obligation to you.
9. Termination and account deletion
You can stop using Wayve at any time and delete your account in Settings or by emailing hello@joinwayve.com. Deleted accounts are deactivated immediately and permanently erased after a 30-day grace period, as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service; where reasonable, we will give you notice.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content (including user-contributed places and AI output) is accurate or reliable.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Wayve will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and GHS 500. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
12. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We are a small team building quickly: features may change, be added, or be removed. If we make material changes to these Terms we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana — except where the law of your country of residence gives you mandatory consumer protections or venue rights, which remain unaffected.
